Volkswagen has put its entire medium electric SUV line-up on sale across the country, with the ID.4 Pro, ID.4 GTX, ID.5 Pro and ID.5 GTX all now in showrooms. The quartet delivers a spread of price points, powertrains and body styles designed to tempt buyers away from petrol and diesel rivals.
They join the all-new Tiguan in Volkswagen’s medium SUV stable, meaning buyers can now choose between efficient turbo petrol, performance petrol and full battery-electric power, with the broader range spanning $44,990 to $72,990*.
Entry to the BEV line is via the ID.4 Pro ($59,990*) and ID.5 Pro ($62,990*). Both share a 210kW rear-drive layout, 0-100km/h in 6.7 seconds, and over 540km WLTP range. The GTX versions add a front motor for all-wheel drive, a punchier 250kW output, and a 0-100km/h sprint in 5.4 seconds. The ID.4 GTX lists at $69,990*, while the coupe-bodied ID.5 GTX sits at $72,990*.
MY25.5 cars gain Wireless App-Connect and programmable massage seats as standard. Remaining MY25 stock comes with a free 7kW Ampol home charger and installation valued at $1,899**, including up to 20 metres of cabling and safety gear.
Standard equipment is generous even on Pro models: IQ.LIGHT Matrix LED headlights, panoramic roof, adaptive chassis control, heated ArtVelours seats with power adjustment and memory, 12.9-inch infotainment with voice control, Area View 360-degree camera, and the full suite of Volkswagen driver assists including Travel Assist, Side Assist and Emergency Assist. GTX variants add unique exterior styling, sports seats with red stitching, 20-inch alloys, and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.
Volkswagen’s On EV programme supports every ID.4 and ID.5 with an 8-year/160,000km battery warranty, free battery health checks, finance with guaranteed future value, and a dealer network with almost complete BEV charging coverage. All cars ship with both AC and DC charging cables as standard.
Arjun Nidigallu, Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles Head of Product, said the range proves BEV demand is strong when the mix is right: “The ID.4 and ID.5 have arrived with the performance, design and value that customers expect from Volkswagen, backed by the aftersales support that inspires total confidence.”
