Brisbane – Isuzu UTE’s updated 25MY MU-X has hit the market running, with sales climbing to record heights since its March arrival.
After a strong 2024 – finishing as Australia’s sixth best-selling 4×4 and third in the ‘SUV Large < $80K’ class – MU-X numbers dipped early in 2025 as remaining 24MY stock ran down. The arrival of the facelifted 25MY, with its sharper styling and new tech suite, flipped the trend.
May saw 1,643 deliveries, June set an all-time monthly record with 2,033, and July added another 1,635 – the first time the MU-X has topped 5,000 units in any rolling three-month period, at 5,311 total. Demand has been especially strong for the flagship X-TERRAIN.
“With its effortless combination of capability, value, and versatility, our ambition was for the new MU-X to be well received,” said IUA Managing Director Junta Matsui. “These results confirm just how strongly our all-purpose SUV resonates with Australians.”
The MU-X continues to play the dual role of family hauler and outback tourer, appealing from school runs to the Red Centre. Last year’s 17,978 deliveries placed it 15th overall in the national sales chart; with stock improving, 2025 may go higher still.
IUA says production has been ramped up internationally to meet local demand, with extra stock confirmed from September. Customers are being urged to order early to secure delivery.
The brand has also introduced Isuzu UTE Finance and Insurance this year, available through its national dealer network to streamline ownership.
For Isuzu, the 25MY MU-X’s performance is more than a spike in sales – it’s proof that a well-balanced mix of refinement, reliability and real-world versatility still carries plenty of weight in the SUV market.
